The Goose Island Bourbon County Brand Stout 2022 marks the 30th anniversary of this legendary beer and is a true masterpiece of brewing excellence. Crafted as a massive Imperial Stout, this noble liquid aged in a carefully selected blend of bourbon barrels from distilleries such as Heaven Hill, Four Roses, Wild Turkey, and Buffalo Trace. The result is a pitch-black revelation boasting intense aromas of dark chocolate, vanilla, and caramel. On the palate, the stout is incredibly full-bodied and complex, where the distinct oak note and a hint of leather harmonize perfectly with the subtle sweetness of molasses. Despite the bold 14.3% ABV, the alcohol is beautifully integrated, providing a soothing warmth on the finish. This collector's item is best enjoyed slightly warmed at around 12-14°C in a snifter to unlock its full aromatic depth.
