3 Fonteinen Oude Geuze consists of a blend of 1, 2, and 3 year old spontaneously fermented Lambic that has been matured in wooden barrels. Unpasteurized and unfiltered, the beer matures in the bottle for at least 1 additional year. The aging and natural carbonation in the bottle create the fine champagne-like carbonation. Lambic is beer in its most original form, and after maturation can become one of the most complex types of beer in the world.
