Trumer is an eighth-generation private brewery with a history of over 400 years. Since 1601 beer has been brewed in Obertrum am See, in the middle of the Salzburg Lake District. Since 1775 the brewery has been owned by the Sigl family and is currently managed by Josef C. Sigl. A special feature of the brewery is the further development of open fermentation (as opposed to fermentation in closed tanks), through which the naturally occurring tannins and bitter substances can be carefully skimmed off by hand. This is how the uniquely mild and balanced beers from Trumer are created.
