Wow. A Barley Wine aged in Kioke barrels!

Kioke barrels are traditionally used to ferment soy sauce. The special wood gives the Barley Wine hints of pine, resin and herbs. The beer also has notes of dates, red berries, umami, caramel and smoke. On the finish, the full-bodied beer is mildly bitter and minimally acidic.
