The famous Blond from Belgium: La Chouffe!
La Chouffe is the strong Belgian version of the Pale Ales, a so-called Blond. This unfiltered pale ale continues to ferment in the bottle. The fruity hoppy flavors are further enhanced by the addition of coriander. Hops and coriander provides a citrus aromatic and floral taste and aroma. The typical Belgian yeast complements the aromatics with hints of spice such as clove or nutmeg.
Overall, this blonde is wonderfully balanced and round. The finish is characterized by a pleasant hop bitterness.
By the way, the gnome or dwarf on the bottle is named Marcel. Each beer of Brasserie d'Achouffe has its own gnome, which according to legend is actively assisting in the brewing process!
