The refreshingly tart Oude Gueuze Cuvée René is one of the most famous Lambics ever!
This spontaneously fermented beer is a blend of 1/3 old (3 years) Lambic and 2/3 young (1 year) Lambic. These were fermented in large oak barrels. The beer is then bottled and aged for another six months. During this time, bottle fermentation takes place, which not only gives the Geuze its carbonation, but rounds out the flavor beautifully.
The Oude Gueuze Cuvée René convinces with its balanced play of acidity, yeast notes, hints of barrel aging and a light fruit reminiscent of citrus and apple. A great companion to many dishes or as an ingredient itself, for example, for rudiments of sauces.
This beer is perfect for cellaring for several years!
