Omer Vander Ghinste

The Omer Vander Ghinste brewery was founded in Bellegem, Belgium, in 1892 and is now run by the fifth generation of the family. A special tradition of the brewery is that every first-born son is given the name ‘Omer’ - a legacy of the original advertising strategy of immortalising the name on leaded glass windows of cafés.

One of the best-known beers is OMER. Traditional Blond, a Belgian blond beer with 8% alcohol, which is appreciated for its fruity flavours and pleasant bitterness. Equally popular is LeFort, a dark strong beer with 10% alcohol, whose complex flavour is reminiscent of the historic LeFort brasserie.

The brewery focuses on a mixture of tradition and innovation and is particularly known for its top-fermented beers and spontaneously fermented specialities.
