This Senatsbock version from ÜberQuell was brewed with 30kg of hazelnuts per batch. It convinces with intense aromas of chocolate, nougat, and roasted hazelnuts.

The Senatsbock has a long tradition in the Hamburg beer scene, and it has been reissued since 2013.

A Brief History of the Hamburg Senatsbock

In the long beer tradition of the Hanseatic city, there was a special phase in the 1950s. Five local breweries came together once a year to brew a special bock beer. This was then ceremoniously tapped in January of the following year and celebrated. This event took place for the first time in 1958. However, after a few years, this tradition faded away and was forgotten.

Fortunately, it was not completely forgotten. Various breweries have been working on a new recipe for the Senatsbock since 2013. And with that, they have created a real hype, even beyond the borders of the Hanseatic city.
