Westmalle Extra: A Patersbier from the Belgian Trappist Monastery.

A Patersbier is a light pale blonde ale that was originally only consumed by the monks within the monastery and was not intended for sale. The Westmalle Extra has a pleasantly low alcohol content of 4.8%, yet it is full-bodied and characterful in taste. It is pleasantly dry and has aromas of stone fruits, flowers, hay, bread, grass, and spices. The second fermentation in the bottle provides a lively carbonation.
