With Landgang Pils, Hamburg's craft beer brewery Landgang has brewed its namesake beer. The beer pays homage to the seafarers of the Hanseatic city of Hamburg and the centuries-old tradition of exporting beer via the port of Hamburg. Breweries have been documented in Hamburg since the 14th century (by mid-century, for example, there were over 450 breweries in Hamburg), and beer has been exported through the port for just as long.
