Lambic & Geuze
Lambic & Geuze are classic beer styles from Belgium, more precisely from the region southwest of Brussels. Lambic is a spontaneously fermented sour beer that is aged for several months to years in oak barrels called foeders. A geuze is a blend of lambics of different ages, classically 1-, 2- and 3-year-old beers. Both beer styles are characterized by a complex aroma of wild yeast, dry acidity, leathery woody notes and citrus hints.
Traditionally, lambics are aged on various fruits such as cherries, raspberries, strawberries, plums or grapes. This results in incredibly intense and fruity beers that are a testament to great craftsmanship. Perfect for food pairings!
