Northern Monk – Craftsmanship and Innovation from Leeds
Northern Monk, a brewery based in Leeds, combines traditional brewing craftsmanship with modern creativity. Since its founding, the brewery has earned a strong reputation for high-quality and innovative beers that appeal to both local and international beer lovers.
From Basement Project to Renowned Brewery
The journey of Northern Monk began in 2008, when co-founder Russell Bisset first developed the idea of starting his own brewery. In 2013, financial support from his grandmother enabled him to brew his first beers together with brewer Brian Dickson in the basement of a family home in Bradford.
After early success at local markets, the brewery moved in 2014 to the historic Old Flax Store in Leeds, where Northern Monk is still based today.
