Until recently, only six Munich breweries were allowed to brew a "Münchner Hell." The reason for this was strict EU legal requirements: A Münchner Hell must be brewed using Munich water and Munich air, the original gravity must be between 11.4 and 11.9 percent, and the alcohol content must be between 4.7 and 5.4 percent. The IBU value must be between 14 - 25. Since Giesinger has had its own deep well on the company premises in Feldmoching since 2020, the young Munich brewery meets all the conditions and is thus Brewery Number 7 with its own "Münchner Hell."
