Hop Hyperdrive from Latvia: A World-Class DIPA

The Latvian hop wizards at Arpus Brewing teamed up with the Canadian specialists from Third Moon for this release. The goal of this transatlantic collaboration was clearly defined: to create a Double IPA that pushes the boundaries of hop extracts and modern cryo-technology. Arpus is known for their uncompromising hazy styles, and this DIPA takes no prisoners when it comes to intensity and freshness.

In this brew, the proven power of Cryo Citra meets the exotic aromatics of Riwaka. A special highlight of this beer is the use of Hyperboost Strata – a highly concentrated hop product designed to bring maximum essential oils and aroma into the brew without the green bitterness of traditional pellets. The result is a cutting-edge craft beer that shows exactly where hop-forward aromatics are headed today.

In the Glass

In the glass, the beer presents an extremely hazy, rich honey-yellow, topped by a stable, fine-pored foam head. Even as it is poured, an intense bouquet fills the air: bold notes of ripe mango and pineapple mix with the zesty freshness of pink grapefruit and lime. Thanks to the Riwaka influence, there is a subtle, almost diesel-like dank note that harmonizes perfectly with the berry nuances and the resinous cedarwood finish of the Strata hops. On the palate, this DIPA is soft, almost creamy, hiding its 8.0% ABV behind a massive wall of fruit.
