Double Power from Gothenburg: Stigbergets – Double Headed DDH West Coast IPA

With the Double Headed DDH West Coast IPA, Gothenburg-based Stigbergets Bryggeri introduces an intensified version of its flagship beer. The wordplay in the name says it all: a double-headed mascot (the iconic seagull) meets a double dry-hopping process. While the "West Coast" label might lead one to expect a classic bitter IPA, Stigbergets intentionally plays with expectations—this is a Scandinavian interpretation that leans heavily into Hazy NEIPA territory.

The beer features an alcohol content of 6.5% ABV and is based on the original West Coast IPA recipe but brewed with 60% more hops. In addition to the core hops Citra and Mosaic, this version incorporates Galaxy and Cryo-Pop. The result is an extremely aromatic experience with notes of passion fruit, mango, and berries, paired with a hint of pine. Thanks to the use of oats and wheat in the grain bill, it offers a silky, full-bodied mouthfeel with a moderate yet supporting bitterness.
