Sudden Death Brewing from Lübeck is known for not doing things by halves. With Extra Premium, the crew presents a Hazy IPA that delivers exactly what the name promises: a first-class drinking experience packed with an insane hop punch and zero compromises. Brewed with a dream team of Mosaic, Citra, Sabro, and El Dorado hops, they have created a recipe that effortlessly masters the balance between intense tropical fruitiness and a silky, pillowy texture.

The brewery, which has its roots in ice hockey, proves once again with this release that they belong to the absolute top of the German craft beer scene. Extra Premium is a tribute to the modern IPA style, where harsh bitterness remains subtly in the background while the hops set off a real firework in the foreground.

In the Glass

In the glass, the beer shows a hazy, bright honey yellow with a stable, fine-pored head. Right from the first sniff, intense aromas of ripe mango, juicy pineapple, stone fruit, and a subtle hint of coconut flow into the nose. On the palate, a soft, creamy mouthfeel unfolds, which is typical for a world-class NEIPA. The tropical fruit bomb is accompanied by a vibrant citrus note that provides refreshing balance before the beer finishes with a very restrained, smooth bitterness.
