Buddelship Brauerei – Handcrafted craft beer from the heart of Hamburg
Buddelship Brauerei is an independent craft brewery from Hamburg, known since its founding in 2014 for artisanal beers with depth and international influence. The name “Buddelship” links North German seafaring tradition with modern brewing — a philosophy reflected in the brewery’s beer styles: open-minded, creative, and respectful of tradition.
Founded by brewmaster Simon Siemsglüß, Buddelship follows a clear philosophy: beers should be authentic, complex in flavor, and stand apart from industrial standards. The portfolio ranges from classic European styles like Kölsch, Alt, Pils, and Bock to hop-forward Ales, Sours, and barrel-aged specialties. Favorites include Great Escape IPA and Steelyard Pale Ale.
The brewery emphasizes quality, natural ingredients, and regular experimentation with yeast strains, hop varieties, and wood barrel aging. Anchored in Hamburg and guided by the vision to craft diverse, honest beers with soul, Buddelship stands as a true flagship of the German craft beer movement.
