Evil Twin Brewing NYC in the Ridgewood neighborhood of Queens is one of the most globally respected names in modern craft beer. Behind the brewery stands the Dane Jeppe Jarnit-Bjergsø – a former elementary school teacher from Copenhagen and today one of the defining figures of the international craft beer scene. The name „Evil Twin" is no accident: Jeppe's identical twin brother, Mikkel Borg Bjergsø, is the man behind the equally legendary Mikkeller brewery – making theirs one of the most famous (and most publicly discussed) sibling rivalries in the craft beer world.

Evil Twin was founded in 2010 in Copenhagen – initially as a „nomadic" gypsy brewery, producing its beers at ten different breweries across six countries. In 2012, Jeppe and his wife Maria moved to New York with their children, where in 2013 they made their first physical mark on the city with the craft beer bar Tørst in Brooklyn. In 2016 came the opportunity for their own brewery: a former banquet hall in Ridgewood, Queens. After three years of laborious renovations, Evil Twin Brewing NYC opened in 2019 as the brand's first permanent brewery – complete with a greenhouse-style taproom and outdoor beer garden.

Evil Twin stands for uncompromising experimentation. The beer names are unmistakable – from „Even More Jesus" to „Ryan and the Gosling" to „Spicy Avocado Margarita" – and the styles range from full-bodied Imperial Stouts to hop-forward IPAs and daring sour creations. Jeppe brought the experimental spirit of his gypsy years into his own four walls, but now has full control over recipe, fermentation, and maturation.
