Vaut City | Sour Ales from Scotland

Up in the very north of the British Isles, some pretty good beer is brewed. Surprisingly, this beer is not typically British. No bitters, no stout or porter as you know it from other breweries - especially from Scotland. In Edinburgh, there is this one small brewery that stands out from all the others. They bring a different feeling to drinking beer. When the typical Scottish weather - i.e. rain - comes around and you drink a beer from Vault City, you not only get a smile, but you also tend to think of summer temperatures, tropical nights, beaches and hammocks. 

The Scottish brewery's beers are refreshingly sour and fruity. They are brewed with lots of different fruits. So much, in fact, that you don't really think of beer when you drink it. Each beer has a refreshing acidity, sometimes more edgy, sometimes less.

If you're ever in Edinburgh and have had enough of draft beer, bitters and stouts, you should go to the little taproom in Leith or the new Smokehouse to see the great beers from Vault City for yourself.
