The dubbel from Westmalle is a dark, reddish-brown Trappist beer with a full and complex taste. Spicy and fruity with a bitter-fresh finish. Mild mouthfeel and a long, dry finish. Westmalle Dubbel contains 7% alcohol. Since 1856, this beer has been brewed by the Trappist monks with this recipe. It is the origin and gold standard of today's Belgian Dubbel style.
