Crew Republic - Munich Craft Beer
Crew Republic stands for craft beer. They have been on the market since 2011 and have paved the way for many other craft beer breweries in Germany. Try Crew Republic's beer now and convince yourself of the quality of the Munich brewery!
From Munich's backyard into the wide Craft Beer world
Timm Schnigula and Mario Hanel founded Crew Republic in 2011 in a backyard shared apartment in Munich. That's also where they set up their first home brewing system, on which the two friends diligently experimented. Their first beer will later be called Foundation 11 and is a direct reference to the early days of the brewery.
At the same time, this beer was the foundation of the success story called Crew Republic. Because in the early 2010s, there were hardly any breweries in Germany that needed an American craft beer-inspired Pale Ale: Hop aromatic, fruity, bitter. With this beer, they paved the way not only for themselves, but for many other early German craft beer breweries.
"Craft Beer Is Not A Crime."
Crew brews their beer according to this motto. For four years they operated Gypsy Brewing in different Bavarian breweries - actually quite typical Craft Beer brewery! In 2015, Crew Republic moved into their own brewery. This was made possible in part with an investment from the world's largest hop merchant Joh. Barth & Sohn, based in Nuremberg.
And the brewery's standard range is impressive: In addition to the Foundation 11 Pale Ale, it has already included an IPA, an Imperial Stout and a Double IPA since 2012. In subsequent years came a Session IPA, a Helles, a Barley Wine and a West Coast IPA.
