Klaar Fruchtfermente - Cider Pét Nat from Hamburg - natural and authentic
The Altes Land south of the Elbe near Hamburg is one of the largest fruit-growing areas in Northern Europe. If you drive through this beautiful area, fruit plantation after fruit plantation is lined up. Apples, pears, cherries as far as the eye can see. Here, one does not only get fruits but also fruit juices. But what was missing was an authentic cider from the region. Northern Germany is surely not known for apple wine or cider, but it is obvious that in a fruit plantation, a fermented fruit juice should also be produced.
Two young people from Hamburg have now created the first traditional, authentic cider from the Hamburg region. Klaar Fruchtfermente are Arno and Felix. One is a trained cook and sommelier, the other a cook and trained winemaker. A perfect fine intellectual combination. Their common interest in natural wine and good, regional and organic food made them start the great project "Klaar". Using, among other things, old varieties of apples from a Demeter fruit grower from the Altes Land, they produce elaborately and without any additives completely natural, spontaneously fermented cider or cider. Their first cuvée in the style of a Pét Nat has now been released in the spring of 2020 - and it's just great! A culinary enrichment for Hamburg and Germany.
