Colorful variety of beers from the northern German metropolis
The combination of brewpub, microbrewery and restaurant right on the Elbe opened its doors in mid-2017. The brewery was founded by the duo Axel Ohm and Patrick Rüther, two well-known restaurateurs. In addition to traditional German beer styles such as lager, Überquell also brews modern and trendy beer styles such as IPAs, pale ales, a non-alcoholic or an imperial stout.
In addition, there are some seasonal specials that likewise oscillate between tradition and innovation: There's a refreshing Wit in the summer, a Brown Ale with Honey in the winter, a Fresh Hop Pilsner for the hop harvest, and, of course, the Senatsbock in January.
In addition, there are several limited brews a year, where ÜberQuell brewmaster Tobi, who has gained professional experience in Russia, South and Central America, among other places, can really let off steam creatively: Whether Triple IPA, Sour Ale with mango and hibiscus, a lager with Christmas spices, barrel-aged stouts or even a gruit beer - the Hamburg brewery's offering is beer diversity in action!
A brewpub on the banks of the Elbe River
The Riverkasematten can look back on a varied history: it has already been a market hall, a storage facility, a tran distillery, an air-raid shelter and a world-famous jazz club (where, for example, Ella Fitzgerald or Duke Ellington performed; the Beatles also rehearsed in the club's rooms). The club existed until 1980 and then had to make way for the new flood protection wall on the banks of the Elbe in St. Pauli.
The ÜberQuell Brewpub continues the tradition of socializing at the Fischmarkt. It complements the beer scene in the metropolis of Hamburg with a great meeting place for beer lovers, combining a relaxed atmosphere with delicious food and a variety of beers!
