Block Bräu – Brewery & Brewpub at the Hamburg Harbour
Block Bräu is a well‑known brewery and brewpub located right at the St. Pauli Landungsbrücken on the iconic Hamburg waterfront. Operating since 2012, Block Bräu combines Hamburg’s harbour atmosphere with on‑site brewing, hearty German cuisine, and panoramic views of the Elbe River.
Fresh beer is brewed weekly on site, with a range that includes classic helles lager, unfiltered pale lagers, and seasonal specialty brews such as stout, winter beer, doppelbock, and summery wheat beer. The beers are stored in tanks on the brewery premises before being served on draft or bottled to take away.
A highlight of their range is the Hamburg harbour Altbier “Hafen Alt”, which received recognition at the prestigious European Beer Star, underscoring the brewery’s quality and craft.
Block Bräu is more than just a brewery — it’s a vibrant destination with brewery tours, a large terrace overlooking the harbour, traditional northern German cuisine, and open views into the brew house where visitors can see the brewing process in action.
