Browar Nepomucen (NEPO) – Polish Craft Beer from the Barycz Valley

Browar Nepomucen from the small village of Szkaradowo in the Greater Poland Voivodeship has been one of the defining names on the Polish craft beer scene for years. Founded in 2015 by home-brewing brothers Piotr and Mateusz Musielak, the brewery – which today officially goes by the brand name NEPO Brewing – has grown into one of Poland's most awarded and most popular craft addresses.

Especially charming is the setting: the brewery occupies a lovingly restored, over 100-year-old bakery in the small village of Szkaradowo, in the heart of the Dolina Baryczy (Barycz Valley) Landscape Park, south of Poznań and north of Wrocław. The stylistic credo blends traditional Polish beer culture with the modern international craft world – from refined Grodziskie interpretations to fruit-forward pastry sours and powerful Triple Black IPAs. With over 250 beers brewed and more than 140,000 Untappd ratings (3.73 average), Nepo has long been among the internationally respected Polish breweries.

One particularly notable detail: Nepo is part of the Polish Craft Mafia – a collaboration between three of Poland's leading craft breweries, Maltgarden, Deer Bear and Browar Nepomucen – under whose banner joint beers are released regularly. Beyond that, Nepo has organised its own Festiwal Open Craft in the Barycz Valley for the past eight years. In 2025 the NEPO craft beer & pizza pub opened right next to the brewery. Particularly innovative: the alcohol-free product line Nachmielona – a gluten-free, vegan refreshment drink made from hops and water.
